American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB) and European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) 2019 Joint Meeting

The 2019 joint meeting of the American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB) and European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) will focus on cell biology as the fundamental basis of biology, and will offer sessions on emerging topics such as nontraditional model organisms, and the use of computational modeling and biophysics to “Build the Cell from the Ground Up.” The meeting will be held in Washington, DC December 7-11, 2019.

Listen to our Tech Talk, ‘Long term, live-cell imaging using high-resolution light-sheet microscopy’ on Monday, December 9 at 9:30 AM in Theater 1. The Tech Talk will be given by our Founder and President, Paul Maddox and scientist (and Tilt user) Brian Mitchell.

Talk abstract:

“The Tilt light sheet imaging system from Mizar Imaging is designed for long term imaging of living cells and organisms with minimal photobleaching and phototoxicity, which is essential for understanding complex biological processes.  The Tilt can be added to most inverted microscopes without interfering with existing modalities already on that stand (i.e. confocal, TIRF, super resolution and so forth) enabling complex, multimodal imaging experiments.   In addition, you can use any objective on your microscope, from 20x for imaging whole embryos from any number of model organisms to 60x and 100x TIRF objectives in order to study intracellular dynamics within living cells at temporal frequencies and durations not possible with other imaging modalities.  Today’s talk will start with an introduction of the LITE technology behind the Tilt and will be followed by a description of how the Tilt has enabled imaging experiments not possible with other imaging modalities.”
